Career

Dr. Giulia Guizzardi is a neurosurgeon with a solid training background across Italy and Spain. After graduating in Medicine from the University of Florence and specialising in Neurosurgery at the University of Naples, she completed her PhD at the Universidad de Barcelona in 2025.

She developed her clinical activity at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona between 2021 and 2025, and is currently a member of the Brain & Spine Barcelona team at Hospital El Pilar, combining clinical work with teaching as an associate professor at the Universidad de Barcelona.

Clinical approach

Her practice is oriented towards minimally invasive surgery, with a focus on skull base, vertebral pathology and endoscopic techniques. Clinical research is an inseparable part of her daily work.

Research

Author of more than 20 scientific articles (H-index 8), her areas of interest include neuro-oncology, endoscopic surgery, CSF pathology and minimally invasive vertebral surgery.

Her conviction: the combination of active research and clinical practice is the only path to improving long-term surgical outcomes.
